Five Signal Assessment by The SHIELD Method is a behavioral due diligence that measures destructive patterns in leadership and organizations through five signals: Visibility, Emotion, Leadership, Organization and Narrative.
Behavioral due diligence measures how people in an organization actually act under pressure, before or after a transaction, to find the destructive patterns that put value at risk.
Cultural due diligence describes a culture. Behavioral due diligence measures the behavior behind it, and what it is likely to cost.
The score doesn't read a person. It reads the space between people, where the patterns live.
A survey records what each person says. The Five Signal Assessment reads what sits between the answers: where a leader sees one organization and everyone else sees another. Where energy goes into how to say something, not what. Where one function runs by rules another ignores.
It's not about one bad week. It's a structure, measured.
Who sees the behavior, and who is kept from seeing it?
How much energy goes into managing dynamics instead of producing results?
Do decisions and feedback serve the team, or the leader?
What happens to disagreement, critical feedback and mistakes?
Who owns the story, and who gets to tell it?
Each signal scored on its own, weighed into the overall risk score and broken down by risk level.
What used to be a guess, now broken down into risk you can act on.
Five levels · Select one
Low risk. The patterns support ownership. Name what keeps them there, so they survive the change.
Risk on one signal. Watch it, act on it, and measure again at 90 days.
Risk on more than one signal. The conditions for value erosion and key-person exits are in place. Set the action plan before day one.
The pattern reaches beyond the group into the organization. Hold or firmly support the steps that depend on the most exposed group, and measure every quarter.
Look closer before you commit. A led, deeper diagnosis before the decision, with the findings in front of the board.
Whatever the level, something to act on. The assessment does not predict outcomes. It shows the conditions they grow from, with a recommended plan to act on.
Your situation, your questions. Where it costs most, and what to do first.
